Future of Leadership: The Authenticity Paradox

We're hosting a series of roundtable events; each event centres around a key ‘Future of Leadership’ theme that has arisen from a recent research project we have conducted. This is the third in the series and we will be focusing on the importance of authenticity, consistency and openness for leaders and whether the hierarchical wall between leaders and their followers needs to be knocked down.

Specifically we will be exploring the answers to the following questions:

  • To what extent do leaders need to build more genuine, open, authentic relationships with their employees?
  • How do leaders balance consistency and authenticity with adapting and changing when needed?
  • How important is transparency in communication?
  • Is there a tension between leaders needing to break down barriers with employees and an expectation to maintain distance or the hierarchy? If so, how do they manage this well?
